Belmont Inne
The Belmont Inne

The original two and a half story Hotel Belmont was built in 1850 and opened in 1870. The original owner, Billy Bachman, a horse-lover, named his business after the Belmont Racetrack in New York. Shortly afterward a third floor dance hall was added for Sunday afternoon orchestra dances. Later, eleven small rooms replaced the dance floor. Today it serves as the Belmont's Banquet Room.

The Belmont served as the seat of Lower Saucon government, the meeting place of the Board of Supervisors, and the local trolley stop from South Bethlehem to Center Valley during the 1920's.

The Inne has the original bar, stained glass transoms, and the third floor dance hall has been restored to its elegant past.
